Viva Las Vegas Stamps and Clearsnap Blog Hop!

Okay true confessions, I am not a big stamper. I don't know why, because every time I use them, I love the results. So when I found out that we were hopping with Viva Las Vegas Stamps, I knew they would have just the right stamp for the project I had in mind. Why? Because they HAVE EVERYTHING! Sure enough I popped "skate" into the search at their site, and BAM! There was the perfect Stamp for me. I made a little step by step on how I created this card, and although my subject matter was a roller skating Thank You card, you can adjust it to fit pretty much anything.
Supplies:
ColorBox Premium Dye Ink Kettle
ColorBox Pigment Brush Pad Black
ColorBox Pigment Ink Frost White
Clearsnap Embossing Powder White
Punch: Fiskars
Black Shoelace
Twine-May Arts
Recollections Corrugated Card base

First I pop some holes in the top of the card for the shoelace
Cut a solid square of Bazzill Basics Cardstock in a square- 1 inch smaller than your base card. So this is a 4.5x4.5 square of black. Then I run it through my Xyron Creative Station

Next I tool my Viva Las Vegas Hinge Stamp and with pigment ink stamped it in the center

I dusted it with embossing powder, and then used a brush to dust off excess powder

I lined up my Viva Las Vegas Newsprint stamp on another piece of Bazzill cardstock using my Clearsnap Premium Dye Ink

Then stamped, y skate and same cardstock-making sure there is enough room to cut out both

I cut out my Newsprint first

then lined it up on my skate image and made a few small marks-you want to cut it a little bit smaller than the newsprint stamp

I popped my newsprint piece and dropped it in my punch.

lined up where I want my image-trim again if needed

Attach back piece using Mega Runner, on top of now cooled embossed stamp
Now Stamp your word or sentiment, and emboss- Tip I use the left over backing from my Xyron to protect the black paper from overstamping

Ink up both the negative punch piece and that tag

Put foam adhesive on the back

and add it over the focal image

Now go to the inside, and using the top holes as a guide, punch 3 more evenly spaced holes vetically

Take your shoelace- or any ribbon and start feeding from the back like shown above

At the top you will want at least 9 inches to make the bow

Lace up the other side

Trim your excess in back and tie in a knot

Punch a hole in your tag and run your twine through it

using a glue pen, I wrote thanks and embossed it onto the tag

Then to get the embossing to POP, I ran more black ink over the top, then wiped it off using a paper towel

I added the tag and little picture to the inside through the laces

Graphic 45 Design Team Audition 2013

Here we go! So you may think since I am currently on the design team, I am a "shoe in" for 2013. But not so! I know that the team at Graphic 45 always wants to keep everything fresh and exciting for their followers, so there are no guarantees here! I even almost didn't try again, because let's face it, there is a fear of rejection. All of us who put ourselves out there for those few coveted spots are taking a risk, but not guts no glory! So I created 6 brand new projects to present... and here they are!
