Comfort Zones

So I decided to finally take an online workshop and since I really wanted to increase my techniques in mixed media. I decided on Christie Tomlinsons "Your Living Canvas" Workshop. My comfort zone is black cream and white! And Christie is all about COLOR! But that was the point for me...take a class to really take me in another direction and take what I like and combine it into my personal creations. She blows me away how carelessly she just slaps paint and stamps on things and they come out amazing! I must always remember though, when you are learning how to do things you just usually are not good at them at first. Thats just how it goes. I think about learning to ride a bike and crashing and falling, and now it seems so effortless. So I know I will look back in the journal and laugh at how bad my "early" stuff was- I hope! LOL!

Bathroom Remodel- Progress?

So here we are I think 3 weeks in and the pace is well...slow. But Hubby is recovering from surgery and is very limited in his work abilities...but there has been a lot of electrical and plumbing-you just cant see those things! I have moved all of my face washing stuff into the kitchen and my hair stuff into my craft room. It hasn't been too bad. Right now the bathroom shower fixtures are holding the whole thing up! Cant install new tub until shower fixture is in, cant install floor and vanity until tub is in, cant install lights until...well I pick them out! And I bought this cool vintage  70's mirror and Tyler says its too big! Well here are some pics:

Progress is slow but sure!

Your Living Canvas Online Workshop

I am very excited to be attending my first online workshop. I have been really into making mixed media canvases and looking for a workshop to attend to expand my techniques. When I watched one of Christy Tomlinsons tutorials online and saw her making a complete mess just painting on her stamps, mixing up her brushes and getting her hands all messy, I knew this was the girl I wanted to learn from! Exciting news, I have been selected to be on the Clearsnap Design Team! When it rains it pours, first Graphic 45 and now Clearsnap! The best part is that they work in tandem with each other, amazing papers and amazing design products. I have already started creating! I hate to admit but I swear I only use two colors of ink- Black and Brown! But no more.....clearsnap sent me like 50 different colors of ink and I can't wait to dig in! Well I am back from my weekend of artsy fun at Kim Caldewlls Affaire at Tiffanys! And look at all of my Audrey glory!
